The original interior design of this iconic 1924 Spanish Colonial home was created by celebrated Los Angeles architect John Byers for the actor Leo Carrillo, making this residential project a famous place to visit according to t the Santa Monica Conservancy’s landmarks commission. More than an ordinary home decor renovation, Mark D. Sikes had the mission to restore the incredible classic beauty of this unique spot with a few fresh modern details that wouldn’t mess up the original idea. The final result matched the vision that John de Neufville’ and his wife, Alison, who is a fashion consultant for brands like Dolce & Gabbana, Aerin Lauder, and Edie Parker, had for the property: an inspiring fresh design that keeps the home’s iconic classic details without looking like a museum. Considered the expert of the new take of fresh classic design lines, Mark D. Sikes was able to add that California-Mediterranean aesthetic feel and research, while maintaining the authenticity of the history of the Spanish Colonial home project.
