ABOUT SALONE DEL MOBILE MILANO
The Salone Internazionale del Mobile, which originated in Milan in 1961 as a vehicle for promoting Italian furniture and accessory exports, has evolved into the world’s leading event for the furnishing and design sectors.
Each year, these events, which are organized under the umbrella of the Milan Furniture Fair, occupy a net area of about 210,000 square meters on the Rho Fiera Milano fairgrounds, showcasing over 2,300 of the world’s most inventive and creative businesses.
The iSaloni attracts over 370,000 professional visitors each year, with just under 70% of them coming from other countries, as well as over 5,000 national and international journalists and around 27,500 members of the public over the weekend, making it the unmissable sector-wide appointment. Not to mention the accompanying activities, which are typically produced by top worldwide artists and designers, because the Salone is not only about commerce but also about culture. This is the Salone, presently in its 60th edition: an international platform with the “privilege of actuality” that illuminates the condition of the design. For years, every year.

Workplace3.0 is envisioned as a crucial think tank for understanding and learning about upcoming workplace developments. It’s more than a show; it’s a platform for developing forward-thinking concepts that can adapt to shifting market conditions and demands.
The Salone dedicated to the workplace has confirmed its new vocation as an exploration of brand-new approaches, forms, and solutions to the workplace “of the future,” in which the human factor and smart technologies play a vital role. With the introduction of Workplace3.0, an innovative exhibition area devoted to design and technology in workspace planning, the Salone dedicated to the workplace has confirmed its new vocation as an exploration of brand-new approaches, forms, and solutions to the workplace “of the future,” in which the human factor and smart technologies play an important role.
The world of work, like the concept of work, is constantly evolving, necessitating new workspaces. The best-equipped event to meet this shift and market demand is Workplace3.0, a design and technology conference. It includes the best procurement plans, reception areas, and office spaces from the most innovative companies working on solutions that correspond with new methods of working and design criteria for “inhabiting” the workspace.
With the 2019 edition of Workplace3.0, the new exhibition format made its premiere. The 53 exhibiting companies created a fluid and hybrid presence around the fairgrounds, underlining their goal of encouraging creative innovation. This new display style symbolizes the workplace’s social transformation into a flexible, permeable, and dynamic setting that encourages professional interaction as well as participation in other day-to-day activities.
The way we consider and manage indoor space is always evolving. The way it’s told is also important. S. Project debuted a unique fluid and crosscutting display style at the Salone del Mobile Milano.
S.Project launched, a crosscutting area devoted to design objects, as well as decorative and technical interior design solutions. S.Project chose, collected, and valued manufacturers’ proposals in close collaboration with the Salone Internazionale del Mobile, The International Furnishing Accessories Exhibition, Euroluce, Workplace3.0, and SaloneSatellite, providing a 360-degree view of interior architecture and responding to market demands.
S.Project is distinguished by its multisectoral focus as a multidimensional area with a broad range of goods, with products ranging from interior to outdoor furniture, from wellness products to fabrics, from lighting to acoustic solutions, and from coverings to finishes.
S.Project strives to create a new B2B platform that stimulates collaboration between merchants, designers, and enterprises while providing a welcoming environment and the finest networking chances. It’s the ideal venue for showcasing industrial excellence, new ideas, and innovative solutions to industry professionals as well as national and international buyers.
EUROCUCINA / FTK – Technology for the kitchen
Since 1974, the biennial International Kitchen Furniture Exhibition has been the primary showcase for high-end kitchens, together with its companion event FTK (Technology For the Kitchen).
EuroCucina’s 22nd edition, as well as FTK – Technology For the Kitchen, a companion event focusing on built-in household appliances and their evolution, provided a targeted and inventive response to the sector’s expanding interest.
The shows, which were shown by 117 groups in a 22,000-square-meter exhibition space, were based on efficiency and evocation. Kitchens have developed from purely functional spaces to become domestic centers, where friends and family meet. This revival of the family hearth generates an integrated, adaptable, and professional environment that never fails to trigger strong emotions.
A large assortment of high-quality products greeted visitors. All of the exhibits at EuroCucina exemplified contemporary design, technological innovation, next-generation performance, energy efficiency, and ease of use. The kitchen was given new shapes, colors, and materials to differentiate it as a gathering place for friends and family.
FTK – Technology For the Kitchen – provided an overview of state-of-the-art technology in built-in domestic appliances, with models, prototypes, and concepts made by companies that place a high priority on research, as usual, with 48 exhibitors spread across a 22,192 m2 exhibition area.
Internation Bathroom Exhibition
The International Bathroom Exhibition, the newest of the sectoral events hosted under the Salone del Mobile Milano banner, is preparing for its 2022 edition. Four years after the last live edition, the wellness world’s trailblazers are set to meet in person once more, with 172 exhibitors (15 percent from other countries) spanning over 17,000 m2 of the display area.
“For the 2022 Salone, exhibitors are finally returning to an in-person event, where they’ll be able to greet visitors and demonstrate their latest items. The event will focus on product creation and distribution, bringing together all of the key participants under one roof for the first time. Since 2018, this hasn’t happened. Due to the pandemic, the 2020 event was canceled, but Supersalone allowed us to gather again in 2021 and show our items live. It couldn’t possibly have the same strength as a typical Salone for obvious reasons. It was still vital to have organized it and to be present. With the 2022 edition, we aim to get back to normal,” said Assobagno President Elia Vismara.
The companies, meantime, are eager to get together once more and see firsthand how bathrooms have grown in recent years, with a strong focus on sustainability.
The world’s largest design event for those under the age of 35. SaloneSatellite’s mission is to strengthen the connections between research, design, and industry. Its goal is to make connections between firms and young designers who are preparing to enter the industry and the market after graduation. Designers under the age of 35 are eligible to apply.
SaloneSatellite also includes work from design-oriented colleges and universities. This involvement is geared toward staying current with how the educational system around design is changing, what priorities are indicated to students and research processes, and how students’ intellectual and practical abilities are stimulated, resulting in their understanding of the problems and consequences of certain production methods. The SaloneSatellite Award, established in 2010, is another way to bring together young designers and entrepreneurs.
